Recipe Day - Tasty Meatballs

Tasty Meatballs

You can double or triple this recipe, depending on your dogs appetite, and freeze ant leftovers if there are any.

1/2 pound ground beef
1 carrot, finely grated
1/4 cup of any seasonal vegetable, grated
1 Tablespoon grated cheese (your dog's favourite)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (powder, not salt)
1/2 cup of whole wheat bread crumbs (make a piece of overdone toast and crumble it)
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon tomato paste

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Roll into small meatballs and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven until meatballs are brown and firm (about 15 minutes). Cool completely, and store in an airtight container in the fridge.

You can replace the ground beef with ground pork, lamb, chicken or turkey. You can also replace 1/2 the breadcrumbs with ground flax for an added health kick.

Enjoy!
